10,000 Sign Our Petition Urging MPs to Block Starmer's Chagos Surrender

The public anger over the Chagos handover has boiled over. In less than a week, more than 10,000 Britons have put their names to a petition organised by the Great British PAC, demanding that Parliament reject Keir Starmer's secretive and shameful surrender of the islands.

Struck with no public consultation, no parliamentary scrutiny and no protections whatsoever for the British-Chagossian people, the agreement would hand one of Britain's most strategically vital overseas territories to Mauritius.

Opponents have branded the move unlawful, undemocratic, racist and reckless. Now the British public is fighting back.

“It's a betrayal of our country, our people, and our principles,” thundered Ben Habib, Chairman of the Great British PAC, who launched the petition last weekend. “This is a complete surrender of British territory — without a single shot fired.”

Crucially, although Starmer has now signed the deal, it is not yet law. Before it can take effect, it must be ratified by Parliament — which means MPs still hold the power to halt this disgrace in its tracks. That is why our campaign is urging voters to flood their MPs' inboxes.

Email your MP now: the people have had enough

We are asking everyone to email their MP and tell them to vote down the Chagos deal. As a PAC spokesperson put it: “Whether your MP is Labour, Lib Dems, Green, Reform, Conservative, or from another party, the MPs need to hear directly from their constituents that this deal is not in your name. People need to let them know they don't want this dreadful deal.”

Claire Bullivant, CEO of the PAC, issued a stark warning:

“This is the last chance saloon. MPs must understand: the British people are watching. We will not forget how they vote on this.”

Subject line: Stop the Chagos Betrayal

Dear [MP's Name],

I am writing as your constituent to express my deep concern about the Government's decision to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.

This deal is undemocratic, strategically disastrous, environmentally destructive, and a shameful betrayal of the British-Chagossian community.

What's at stake:

  • The surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius — a vital UK military stronghold in the Indian Ocean.
  • A £30 billion+ payout — agreed without public consultation or Parliamentary consent.
  • The betrayal of the Chagossian people, who were never consulted and may now be permanently cut off from their homeland.
  • Potential damage to the most precious and protected marine area worldwide.

This undemocratic and racially discriminatory deal was signed without scrutiny, without a vote, and without transparency. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also misled the country, claiming China opposed the deal, when media reports show Beijing is celebrating.

I urge you to vote against this deal when it comes before Parliament.

Yours sincerely, [Your Name] [Your Postcode]

This is no fringe concern. It is a defining test of whether Britain's MPs will stand up for sovereignty, justice and the people they represent — or roll over and betray them.
